FAQ

How does BANDS estimate my earnings?
BANDS analyzes historical streaming income data and uses industry-standard royalty rates to estimate how much revenue your streams should generate. Connecting your different royalty accounts will allow you to receive more accurate estimations in the future by using data from your historical income statements to inform estimates. It will also help give you the clearest view of your historical earnings.
How do I link my accounts to BANDS?
To link your accounts, tap your profile picture in the top right picture of the ‘Home’ tab to visit ‘Settings.’ Then, tap ‘Linked Accounts.’ On this page, you’ll be able to link your historical earnings data from your various royalty-generating accounts. While direct integration is only supported for certain platforms currently, you can upload income statements from any account type.
What does linking my accounts do?
Linking your royalty-generating accounts allows you to track and visualize your historical earnings from your various income sources. It also helps find any unregistered / incorrectly registered works, ensuring you’re aware of any royalties that may be slipping through the cracks. Linking your royalty-generating accounts enhances data accuracy throughout the app. This helps give you a clearer picture of what you may be paid in your monthly and quarterly payments from your various royalty-generating accounts.
How does BANDS Melody work?
Melody is your AI-powered business manager. It monitors your catalog in real-time 24/7 to spot and help resolve publishing registration issues, ensuring you aren’t leaving any of your royalties on the table. Melody also provides BANDS Publishing Administration servicing, allowing you to quickly register any works you are not currently collecting Publisher’s Share royalties for.
How does BANDS Publishing Administration work?
BANDS Publishing Administration allows you to seamlessly register your catalog for publishing administration. After registering a song, BANDS will collect your Publisher’s Share royalties (both performance and mechanical) from our worldwide payout sources. After your song is processed and registered, BANDS collects your Publisher’s Share royalties, which will be paid out on a quarterly basis. BANDS takes an industry-standard commission on these royalties.

• Mechanical: 15% commission
• Performance: 25% commission
• Sync: 15% commission
• Other: 15%
Can I use BANDS Publishing Administration if I already use a distributor like DistroKid or CD Baby?
Yes, because these distributors collect a different type of royalty. BANDS Publishing Administration only collect your Publisher’s Share of mechanical and performance royalties.

If you are using CD Baby’s publishing services, or another publishing administrator, then you cannot also use BANDS Publishing Administration.
What royalties does BANDS Publishing Administration collect?
By registering a song through BANDS Publishing Administration, you are allowing BANDS to collect your Publisher’s Share royalties (both mechanical and performance) on your behalf.
How often does BANDS Publishing Administration pay out?
After your song is fully registered and collection begins, you will receive payments 4 times per year.
How far back can I collect royalties via BANDS Publishing Administration?
Most of the payout sources we collect from are able to forward royalties from the past couple of years (typically 1-2 years). While we are able to collect retroactive royalties at times, we cannot make any guarantees, as it is case-by-case based on each individual payout source. If we are able to collect any of your retroactive royalties, the payment will likely arrive two or three quarters after your first BANDS Publishing Administration royalty statement.
Is my data secure?
Yes. Your trust means everything to us. BANDS never directly stores the credentials used to link your accounts. BANDS only retrieves income statements and metadata related to your catalog. All of your financial data is stored and protected with industry-standard encryption measures. You can delete your data and disconnect your accounts at any time by submitting a deletion request to support@joinbands.co.
Can I withdraw my royalties from BANDS?
BANDS only helps you track your music's earnings and performance. The earnings you see on your dashboard are estimated (unless you link your royalty-generating accounts) based on each song's streaming data that we can access via our different data providers. Earnings displayed in your app's dashboard cannot be withdrawn through the BANDS app. It's on you to withdraw your earnings from each of your royalty-generating accounts (PRO, Distributor, Publishing Administrator etc.).

If you choose to register songs with BANDS Publishing Administration, you will receive payments for royalties we are able to collect on your behalf quarterly.
I’m a manager. How can I track earnings for multiple artists?
Multi-artist view is currently not supported. You will have to create a new account for each artist. Feel free to reach out to support@joinbands.co with any questions!
